Red light therapy (photobiomodulation), infrared therapy, and PEMF are genuinely well-studied modalities — decades of published research exist on their general effects on circulation, cellular activity, and recovery.

A 2025 evidence-based consensus published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, developed by an international panel of 21 experts following a systematic review of the literature, concluded that photobiomodulation is a safe treatment modality and identified supportive evidence for its use in conditions including peripheral neuropathy, wound healing, and pain management.
